What a beautiful Weekend?

Well i don't know about the rest of you, but the weather has been gorgeous here in Aberdeen all weekend; so nice to see the sun for more than 5 minutes, really cheers the soul and brightens my day.

I've not been too well this week, so haven't managed to get much done. However, i was lucky enough to receive my order from The Greetings Farm on tuesday, so had new stamps to play with, which made me feel alot better.

Here's what i've made so far....
Isn't she adorable, coloured with letraset promakers, used my nesties to cut the circles for layering, and the flower sequins and beads were sewn on by hand.

I love this card, i've had the Mermaid Anya stamp for quite a while, and have used her alot, cos she's so cute, but i felt she needed a playmate; so when i saw the Surfer Ian stamp i knew he was perfect for the job, had to make his fishtail myself, but i'm really pleased with how it turned out. Don't they make an adorable couple!
Here's Skater Ian, and isn't he cute, i find it quite difficult to get stamps for cards for men/boys, and this one is perfect for so many age groups.
and finally, here is Fairy Tink, i've had her for a while and just adore her, i'd stamped the image a couple of weeks ago, and it was crying out to be coloured, so i went for a lovely bright summery orange colour scheme, and added some flower embellishments and pearls from my stash.

Not a bad weeks work, really looking forward to playing some more with these stamps this coming week.

Have a great weekend all, and thanks for looking

OMGosh, I can't believe what i just read....

Passion for Promarkers is having a mega prize challenge to launch it's challenges, and the prize is amazing; 3 ribbon kits donated by Angel Crafts, 92 Promarkers donated by Joanna Sheen, and 2 stamps donated by Dies to Die For.

Now that is what i call an amazing prize, i can't wait to get started on my project for it, really must get my thinking cap on.

Looks like Passion for Promarkers is going to be an excellent challenge blog, i'm really looking forward to the weekly challenges.

As for it's sponsers, they are in my opinion 3 of the best online retailers for crafting products in the UK, i've dealt with them all before, and always had excellent service.

What a great start to the weekend.

Can you hear the voices?

Can you hear the voices calling your name?

Are you really listening, or going insane?

Do they whisper answers to questions yet untold?

Or intrigue you with visions about to unfold?

Is there light at the end of the tunnel?

Will the rain clouds clear the sky?

Will the sun shine for you tomorrow?

Or will your joy die?

Do good and evil come in equal measures?

Or are the scales always unbalanced?

Does it really matter, what we think or feel?

Are we not just losers to times gigantic wheel?

Sure as summer follows winter

Life will follow Death

Rainbows follow rain clouds

With every living breathe.

The Case of the Curious Mermaid

Here is my entry for the 'Case of the Curious Card 4' Contest at the Greetings Farm. I had great fun with this card, i tried a new technique for colouring the hair following a wonderful tutorial by WickedPixie ( ), i'm really pleased with how the hair has turned out on this mermaid. I've had this set of background papers in my stash for a while and have used some of them on a couple of cards already; i love the black and pink colour combination, so thought that would work well for this mermaid. I used a jumbo brad for the sentiment, and stamped the sentiment onto it using black stazon ink, added this to a fabric flower. I added pearls and buttons to 2 more fabric flowers, added some dotty ribbon and a few extra pearls for a finishing touch.

I think this is one of the first 'CASE' cards i've ever done, and i'm really pleased with how it's turned out. The main elements i chose to case were the general layout of the card, the ribbon splitting the background, the distressed edges on the 3 pieces of background paper and the placement of the flower embellishments.

Would love to hear what you think of it?
Thanks for looking

The Future

I close my eyes;
I see your face, a picture of us in a happy place.
Is this the Past?
Times to Come?
Or is our happiness undone?

What does the future hold?
Will we live to see each other grow old?
Or is the path of our two lives, destined to separate and divide?

So many questions not yet answered
So many things not yet done
So many dream not yet imagined
So many days are still to come.

Today i create with words! I'm not much of a poet, but occasionally i hear a poem in my head and feel the need to write it down. I think this poem expresses quite well the thoughts and feelings of the last few days; nothing major has happened, i just continue my search for answers to questions which fill my head. The future is such a mysterious thing, none of us know how long we have in this world, for some it may be minutes for other years, but noone ever knows. I hope that when i die to find answers to some of lifes many questions, until then i will continue to ask questions of the world, to learn from people and my surroundings, and to appreicate how wonderful and precious every minute of every day is.

Whiff of Joy; Summer Surprise Kit

woj my sweet friend

I love the images drawn by Elizabeth Bell, and am lucky enough to own quite a few stamps designed by her. Whiff of Joy is one of the companies who produce these stamps, and they really do make wonderful stamps from her images. I preordered the Whiff of Joy Summer Surprise Kit, firstly because it was a brilliant price and i couldn't resist it; and knowing that the images where designed by Elizabeth Bell i knew they would be beautiful and well worth the money.

I was delighted to receive my Summer Stamp Kit yesterday, and i definately wasn't disappointed. The images are gorgeous and feature adorable children, lovely accessory stamps, and some wonderful sentiments. I couldn't wait to get stamping.

So here is the first card i've created with these stamps; this weeks Whiff of Joy Challenge was to create a friendship card, which is exactly what i have done. I used memento ink to stamp the image and coloured it using letraset promarkers. The background papers came free with a recent craft magazine, and as a finishing touch i added 3 prima flowers with red gemstone centres.

I'm really pleased with how this card has turned out, it's bright cheerful and summery, I love this stamp and sentiment.

Where is the year going?

Omgosh i can't believe how long it is since i last updated this blog. The time just seems to be flying by and we're nearly half way through the year already.

Lets see, What's happened so far this year? Well it's been another interesting few months, Stewart and I are both still battling ill health, but we survive, and are strong as we are lucky enough to have each other, and i try to remember how lucky i am each day.

I've been very fortunate and have made contact with a cousin of mine who i hadn't spoken too for over 10 years, i'm delighted to say we are building a very strong friendship and she has added a new joy and happiness to my life. She is coming to visit us later in the year, and we can't wait, it's going to be such fun.

As for my creative life, i continue to enjoy card making and crafting in general. I've rediscovered my love of rubber stamping, and have fallen under the spell of The Greetings Farms wonderful stamps, and the Whiff of Joy/Sugar Nellie Stamps designed by Elizabeth Bell.

Watch this space too see some of this years creations!!
