Summer Couture -Friends Forever

I had great fun this morning working on this card for the current Summer Couture Challenge over at the Club Anya blog. Took me a while to come up with an idea, but i decided to do something very summery, and go for a beach scene.

I used the palm tree from MIndy's Zoo set of stamps by Autumn Leaves, the rest of the stamp all come from the Greeting Farm, I used Hula Anya for Anya's hair and head, Dress up Anya's body, and a cute little summer dress from the wardrobe 2 set; Ian is from the Dress Up set and his clothes are also from the wardrobe 2 set, i decided to give him a beauty spot and an 'Anya' Tattoo. The cute little dog is from the Pretty Hat set, and the sentiment comes from the Friends Forever Set.

I created the background using my Letraset Promarker Airbrush, everything else is coloured with Promarkers too. Ian, Anya and the Dog are all raised with foam pads to add some extra dimension.

I'm really pleased with how this turned out, looks like a lovely peaceful beach, i'd love to go there....

Fluttery Floral Geisha for The Greeting Farms FFF Challenge

Here's a rather pretty card i made today, for the current Fresh Friday Farm Challenge over at the Greeting Farms Blog. The challenge was to create a card featuring flowers and butterflies; think i managed that ok, lol.

I used paper from the Dovecrafts Retro Floral Pack, One design for the main background, and i cut the Butterflies out of another design. The Butterflies are stuck flat on the background, then i added some organza ribbon with a little butterfly charm and a nice bow. To finish it all the main attraction, Geisha Anya coloured to co ordinate with the papers, she is raised up on foam pads to give the card a bit more dimension.

I've had this paper for ages and love these 2 designs, i think they work beautifully with the Geisha Anya, giving a lovely oriental card but with a bit of zest.

I'd stamped and coloured her with promarkers a while ago, i had not real plan for her, was just having fun stamping and colouring. Well the other day i decided to get my Cuttlebug Embossing Folders out and have a play, and i created this lovely regal looking background then; I added this background to a gold mirror card blank i had in my stash, and that was when i came across Anya already coloured and ready to go, her hair matches the colour of the background perfectly, so i decided to add some ribbon, prima flower and leaves, and a little diamente brad to finish it all off.

I love how this had turned out, it's definately not a colour scheme i work with very often, but i think it works really well together.

Pastel Pink & Apple Flutterby

I stamped and coloured this image a few weeks ago for a challenge at Passion for Promarkers Blog, but i never got round to finishing the card, guess i got a little stuck with it, i had originally stamped the beautiful Flutterby Anya onto a diecut Circle, but it just wasn't working; so the other day i decided to cut her out and try something different.

I'd picked out the floral background paper to go with the image, so i decided to create a nice background with this and i made a lacy looking vellum border using a couple of strips of vellum and my current favourite border punch (not sure what make it is, but was only a couple of quid on ebay :) ) I added this background to a pretty green glittery card blank. I then decided to put Anya onto a rectangle die cut with a nice scalloped border one to match; the main rectangle was white and was way too bright for the rest of the card, so i decided to have a play with my Letraset Airbrush set, so i used Pastel Pink and Apple to create a nice coordinating background, i think it works really well.

I'm not sure what i'm going to use this card for, so i've not added a sentiment yet, this gives the opportunity to add an appropriate sentiment when i've decided who to send the card too.

I'm really pleased with the finished card as i was begining to wonder if i would ever come up with an idea for this image.

Passion for Promarkers Week 9 - Rose Pink & Lime

I decided to use one of my new stamps tehe, this little cutie is from the 'Hey cupid' set by CCDesigns, they have some of the cutest images, definately worth checking out, they are available in the UK at www.diestodiefor.com or you can visit www.allthatscraps.com in the USA where you can get some of there stamps in digi sets at very reasonable prices.

I kept this card fairly simple as i used a glittered card blank for the card base, so i didn't want to go too OTT. I stamped the little cupid onto white cardstock and coloured with my beloved promarkers, i added some sakura stardust in clear to the cloud and wings. Then matted the image on a coordinating nesties die cut. I made the paper border from a scrap of paper from a K&Co scrapkit and used a little border punch to create the lacy effect on both edges of the paper. To finish it all off and add a zing of lime i added piece of lime organza ribbon to the paper border, and made a pretty little bow to finish it.

I added a mouth to the cupid, but i'm not sure how much i like it, she looked a little sad to me without it, lol. The sentiment is from a MFT sentiments set. I plan on using this card to send to a friend when they need cheering up, i think it's got an uplifting feel to it, What do you think?

Happy Birthday Stewart

Yesterday it was my gorgeous hubby Stewart's 43rd birthday. So off course i had to make him a card. I'd bought this set of monkey stamps from CC Designs ages ago, as i knew they would be perfect for Stewart's birthday card, as he love monkeys, and the sentiment is a phrase i used quite a lot, lol. The background paper is from a Dovecraft masculine paper pack, and i used this as the inspiration for the colour scheme for the card. I coloured the stamped images in with my letraset promarkers, and added some faux stitching with a letraset fine liner.

This is the card i made for my cousin to give Stewart. Her nickname for him is 'Bucks Fizz Boy', so i decied i had to created a Bucks Fizz Boy for his card, i used Dress Up Ian from the Greeting Farm. I used my Top Note die, to cut out the background for the card, using a piece of pale yellow handmade paper, which i then embossed using the cuttelbug heart block folder; i then ran a black inpad over the embossing to give definition, and rubbed off excess ink with a tissue. I added some darker yellow to the hearts using my promarkers. The sentiment is die cut from the same black card i used for the card base, using a sizzix sizzlet die from the cardmaking kit.

And finally here is the beautiful card that my very good friend Ju made for Stewart, he loves dragons and adores this card. I personally think it's one of Ju's best creations, i love the images shes used, the composition, and the lovely subtle colour scheme, altogether a really gorgeous card.

Faux grid monkeys for SCS technique challenge.

All you do is stamp your images on your paper, then draw lines in to create a grid for the background; colour some of the squares to match the colours of your main images and add a sentiment. A lovely quick and simple technique, with lovely results.

I used the 'Mindy's Zoo' set of stamps from Autumn Leaves, i'd had my eye on this set for a while, and had seen it online in various outlets, but hadn't bought it cos it was full price, so when i saw it on auction on ebay the other week for less than half price, i was well in there, lol.

Ian and Anya stitched lol

Here's a quick card i made this week. The herrignbone stitch was feature in a recent magazine article in a craft mag, and i wanted to give it a try to see if it was as easy as it said, and it was :).

I decided to add the stitched background to the card along with a couple of stamped imaged i had in my stash. I stamped out these Ian and Anya images a while ago and coloured them in, and i think they work quite well on this background.

Not sure what i'll use this card for, i might add a sentiment to it at a later date, if i am inspired.

Limited Supplies Challenge 227 at SCS - Digistamps and Die Cuts

I really enjoy online challenges and one of my favourites is the limited supplies challenge over at Splitcoaststampers.com every week. LSC227 was to use digistamps and diecuts, no real stamps and ink could only be used for colouring the images.
I recently purchased this cute fairy digi stamp from CC Designs at allthatscraps.com and thought this was a perfect opportunity to use it. The background paper is from a DCWV paper stack, and i coloured the digi stamp in with my letraset promarkers, using the background paper as inspiration for my colour scheme. I die cut the background paper using my Top Note die, and die cut the hugs and kisses sentiment using a cuttlebug die. I punched some circles out of the same paper i used for the sentiment, and scattered them around the background of the card behind the main die cut and image.

Rockin Brian Birthday Card 2009

It was my hubby's best mate Brian's birthday on the 15th July, so i made him this card. Took me a while to decide on a theme, and then i remembered i'd downloaded these digi stamps from CC Designs over at allthatscraps.com . I had some fun with this card, and used my Letraset Airbrush set to create the background paper, this is the first time i've used it and i really like the effect, and i love the fact that you use the same pens for the airbrushing as for the colouring of your images, so you always get a perfect colour match.

It's been a exciting week over at the Greeting Farm, it's a new month, so new releases, and their very first blog hop was held and it was a blast. Wonderful to see what the Design Team had created with the gorgeous new stamps that are available. I was a very lucky girl and won one of the blog hop competitions, and i get a set of the gorgeous Butterfly Wishes stamps, which are the first set of stamps designed by The Greeting Farms DT Coordinator Jessica Diedrich. I really can't wait for them to arrive :)
