Crazy 4 Challenges with Limited Supplies..

Today i'd like to share with you a couple of cards i made for a couple of challenges; i love taking part in online challenges, i find them really useful when it comes to creating my next project.  I have a wonderful collection of stamps and crafting goodies, and find myself spoilt for choice sometimes, so i find online challenges help me to focus my attention, and actually create something, rather than sitting and looking at all the possibilities.

One of my favourite challenges is the Limited Supplies Challenge which is posted every friday on Splitcoaststampers, this weeks challenge was fun, and not that limited.  The only limitations we had, were that we had to create 2 cards using the same main image and colour scheme, but with different layouts.  I had great fun with these cards.

For both cards i used the 'Me Time' Anya set from The Greeting Farm, and gorgeous papers from Papermania's Boutique Range.  As soon as i saw these papers i imagined them as wallpapers, so thought they were wonderful to create a lovely bathroom scene for Anya. I also used my new Martha Stewart Around the Page Punches on these cards, i love these punches, just wish they were cheaper so i could get more, lol. I kept the rest of my embellishments to a minimum, as it was a limited supply challenge so i didn't want to go over board.  I added gems and a secondary stamped image to one card, and paper roses and some hand drawn swirls to the other.  I used coloured pencils and odourless spirits to colour my images, and as a finishing touch added some glitter glue to the bubbles in the bath.

Nearly forgot to mention the second challenge these cards both fit into, and that is this weeks Crazy 4 Challenges weekly challenge, this week we were instructed to get punch happy, and that's exactly what i did with my border and corner punches.

Mystery Monday @ Club Anya - Ice Ice Baby

This weeks Mystery Monday Challenge at Club Anya is to create a card that makes you go Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr...... lol, something ice cold cool and beautiful.  For this card i decided to use Dress Up Anya, as i thought she'd look beautiful as an Ice Queen.  I used my coloured pencils to colour Anya, working lots of layers of blues and white to give a rich smooth finish.  I also used my coloured pencils to add colour to the background piece, snowflakes, and the edges of the white snowflake borders; i blended my colours with low odour spirits to get a nice soft effect.  I embossed the background and the snowflakes with a snowy embossing folder, and gave them a little sand to bring out the white of the paper and create the snowy effect.  To finish my card off i added pearls, in various sizes, some to mimic snow falling others as the centre of snowflakes.

I kept the layout of this card very simple, as i just wanted to focus on Ice Queen Anya and her beauty.  I love how this has worked out, amazing what you can convey using a couple of colours.

Thank you for visiting, and I hope you are having a wonderful Thanksgiving, whereever you are in the world :)

Fairy 70th Birthday Card...

I've had fun the last couple of days working on this card for a friend of my mums, who is turning 70 very soon.  Took me ages to decide on what sort of image to use, and i ended settling for the gorgeous seasonal fairies from The Greeting Farm.  I had a little play with them in a graphics package to group them together, then i printed them out, and coloured with my coloured pencils.

As it's a special card, i wanted to create a bit of Wow factor, so i decided to go for an easel card, this one is A5 is size, as i printed the image fairly large to form the focal point of the card.  I just got a set of the Martha Stewart Round the Page Punches and was desperate to use them; i'm really pleased how well they worked with this card, i've managed to achieve a lovely border on all the edges of the easel card, which i really think enhances it.

I added some glitter glue to the image for a bit of sparkle, and a gorgeous glitter 70 embellishment i bought specifically for this card.  As a finishing touch i decided to add some paper roses and leaves to the card, and on the base of the easel card i added a birthday sentiment tag on foam pads which holds the card open.

Just hope the recipient likes it, will have to wait and see.

Xmas Lolli for FFF No Designer Paper Challenge

Here's a quick card i made for this weeks Fresh Farm Friday Challenge over at The Greeting Farm; this weeks challenge is a goodie, very simply all you have to do is make sure you don't use any designer paper on your card.

For my background i used an embossing folder and then added some colour with my promarkers, i trimmed and matted this onto some gold card before attaching it to a red card blank,  The sentiment is a die cut foiled embossed xmas banner that i got from a local craft shop.  The main element on this card is the gorgeous Lolli Anya that was released last week at The Greeting Farm.  Doesn't she look gorgeous coloured in xmasy colours?  I used my promarkers to colour Lolli, and added a bit of sparkle to her and the background with a red stardust glitter pen. Lolli is mounted using foam pads, just to give a little dimension to the card.

Introducing an Old Friend....

I would like to introduce you to my oldest friend, this is Mr Bungie Rabbit, and i've known him my whole life, he was the very first toy my mum bought me, before i was born.  He's been hiding in a cupboard in my bedroom for a while, but he came to mind tonight when i was making this card.

Tonight i decided to make a card just for fun, and to enjoy the opportunity of playing with some of my new rubber stamps.  It was a hard choice but i decided to ink up the adorable 'Snuggle' from the Hope and Grace collection of stamps from The Greeting Farm  .  I had this scrap of patterned paper left over from the card i made yesterday, so i used that as my inspiration for the cards colour scheme.    I stamped 'Snuggle' with brown memento ink, and coloured her with my promarkers; thats when Mr Bungie came to mind, and i coloured my rabbit orange, just like him.  The other rabbit comes from the 'Lucky Bunnies' set of stamps, and i thought he'd look really cute on this card as an extra embellishment.  The sentiment is from the 'McSplendid Farm' set of stamps (all from The Greeting Farm).  I used a fiskars border punch to create the decorate edge on the right hand side of the card, and then just played around with the placement of my images, until i was happy with it.  To finish it all off i added a row of pale yellow flatback pearls to the orange vellum border on the left hand side of my card.

This is one of my favourite cards, i just love the image and how it reminds me of my childhood.  Very happy times, which seem so far away now.  I hope this card makes you smile as much as it has me :)

Make a Wish...

and your dreams will come true!  Well that's what all the good fairytales say.  Today my wish was to make something pretty, and this digistamp from The Greeting Farm was the obvious choice, this is the Spring Fairy from the new collection of Fairies which are being released as digistamps at The Greeting Farm tomorrow.  I love every single one of these Fairies, they all have the most expressive faces, full of character and super cute, just the sort of image i love working with.

After selecting which Fairy to work with, i selected my paper, this paper came from a 'Spring Time' set so was perfect for this card.  I decided to be brave and take the Diedrich Dare, which was a super fun one today, this week it was Madelynn's turn to set the dare, and she's dared us all to make an easel card.  I made my easel card base from some lime pearlescent card i have in my stash, and changed the dimensions to make a slightly bigger card, this being 5 inch square.  I kept this card fairly simple, as i wanted the main focus to be the gorgeous fairy.  I used my promarkers and sakura stardust pens to colour her in, and added a dotty border to the card with a koh-i-noor pen.  I used a circle punch to cut the corners of the papers and as a finishing touch added a pretty yellow paper rose to each corner.  Oh i nearly forgot the 'Make a Wish' sentiment comes from the new Anya Say's set of stamps available at  The Greeting Farm.

I quite like this card, but i can't decide if it needs anything else.  I asked my DH and he said, no it's fine, infact you could do without the roses!!!  What do you think?  I would really appreciate your comments.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog and read my ramblings, i really appreciate it.
Enjoy the rest of your day

Good Morning, Hope your all well and enjoying todays wonderful Spa Hop, I certainly am, I love release day nearly as much as i love getting new stamps.  So you can imagine how happy i am this weekend, i got my latest order from The Greeting Farm yesterday and i get to give away Club Anya Goodies today.

First i'll tell you a little about my card, then i'll let you know how you can win some goodies!!  I decided to make a card to share with you today featuring the gorgeous Autumn Miss Anya (released today) and the wonderful 'My House' set from The Greeting Farm (one of yesterday's new arrivals).  As soon as i saw the 'My House' set I could picture a scene very similar to the one I've created in this card.  First of all i printed off Miss Anya at a slightly larger scale than usual, then i stamped out one of the houses, then i chose my papers, i love this bright striped paper, so pretty.  I coloured Miss Anya using the striped paper as my inspiration, i then coloured the house in complementary colours.  I hand cut the checked paper to create a hill for the house, and die cut a tree and some fences, the pathway was cut from the same card i'd stamped my images on.  Then it was just a simple matter of layering it all up and sticking it to my card base, everything is stuck down flat apart from Miss Anya who i raised on foam pads to make her stand out.  To finish the card off i used one of the sentiments from the 'My House' set and stamped it in brown memento ink. Don't you just love how versatile the Miss Anya and My Guy Ian stamps are?? I certainly do :)

The Joy of Me Time!!!

There is nothing quite like some 'Me Time'; and that is the name of this adorable new Anya set which is available from The Greeting Farm on 15th November, along with all the other gorgeous stamps i've preveiwed this week.

For today's card i decided to try some thing a little different, and i've made my first Joy fold card, i love making different shaped cards, and can't believe how easy this one was to make.  The papers are from a pack i bought recently, and have a wonderful relaxed and peaceful feel to them.  I love how the dark brown paper created a bathroom floor for Anya.

I used my promarkers to colour both of the Anyas on this card.  In additon Anya in the bath has some coloured pencil detail in her hair, and some wonderful fluffy stuff for bubbles.  The sentiment were stamped directly onto the pattern paper with brown memento ink, and i made a closure for the card using a circle of card on foams pads, topped with a beatiful paper rose.

Now you have to go and visit Club Anya if you haven't already been there; as the rest of the DT has created some truly beautiful cards using this new set.  Hope you've liked all my previews this week, and make sure you come back on Sunday for our 'Spa Hop' as we will have more cards to share with you, and wonderful Club Anya goodies to giveaway. Have a relaxing day, and see you on Sunday :)

Sweet as Candy....

Lolli Anya is definately the sweetest cutest thing i've seen since yesterdays's Flapper Anya preview, tehe.
Isn't she gorgeous, she will be available in rubber on the 15th November at The Greeting Farm along with the other wonderful new releases.

This was a fun card to make, i found these cute papers in my stash that reminded me of Lolli's Lollipop, so i used them for my colour choices; i then decided i liked the idea of Lolli sitting on a big Lollipop, so using my coloured pencils i drew the lollipop on one of the papers and cut it out; when cutting it out i decided it would be kinda cool to have the lollipop raised at different levels, reminded me of a slide at the fairground.  So i cut along the spiral line i had drawn, and added lots of foam pads to the back of it, increasing them in depth the closer to the centre i got.

I coloured Lolli in with my coloured pencils and odourless spirits, i decided to give her a top under her dress and some tights, cos it's gotta be cold sitting on top of a giant lollipop!!

I kept the rest of the card very simple, adding some coloured pencil to the other pattern paper to co ordinate it nicely with the lollipop.  As finishing touches i added a lollipop stick, and some Pink rub ons for the 'Sweet as Candy' sentiment.

Now make sure you visit Club Anya to see what the rest of the DT has done with our adorable Lolli, you'll find a wonderful selections of sweet sweet creations there.  You'll also find out more about the special bonus 'Anya says' sentiment set, your gonna love it :)

See you tomorrow for another preview of a gorgeous new Anya

Anya through the Ages

Today i get to share with you one of the cutest Anya's i've ever seen, introducing Flapper Anya, she is the 3rd  Anya in the Anya through the Ages Series, and is limited edition along with Hippie Anya, and 80's Anya. She will be released at The Greeting Farm on Sunday 15th November, not long to wait now :)

I love making easel cards, and thought Flapper Anya would look wonderful as the focal point on one.  They are so easy to make, and look so effective, one of my favourite card shapes.  I wasn't sure how i was going to colour Anya until i came across this paper in my craft stash (another freebie from a craft mag), and i though Anya would look perfect as a Disco Queen, afterall the Flapper outfit is timeless, and I'm sure if the Flappers were around nowadays they would be bopping away to all the current music at their local disco.  I used my coloured pencils and low odour spirtis to colour Anya, taking my colour scheme from the papers i'd chosen.  I added 3 black pearls to hold the easel card up, and as a finishing touch added the 'Disco Queen' sentiment using my label maker. Doesn't she look like she's having fun :)

You have to go see the DT Creations on Club Anya today, they are absolutely gorgeous, and show just how versatile this beautiful little girl is!!  Please remember to come back tomorrow, as we have another super sweet preview for you, which is sure to capture your heart..

Winter Wishes from Ian and Anya!!!

Day 2 of the awesome previews from Club Anya and today i'd like to introduce you to  Autumn Miss Anya & Autumn My Guy Ian, what a very handsome couple they are. These 2 adorable digital stamps will be available at The Greeting Farm on the 15th November, can you wait that long!!!

For me Autumn and Winter tend to merge into one long season, most of the leaves are gone now, so i'm feeling very wintery, so I thought I'd send you all some Winter Wishes with this card.  For this image i opened the digis in a graphics package and overlapped them so they look like a real couple (required a little deleteing of backgrounds, but didn't take too long)  I then printed them out, i have a photoprinter, by a well known brand and the inks work great with my promarkers, not sure if it's the same with copics tho, but i'm very lucky to be able to print and colour digis straight away.  However for this card i coloured my cute couple in using my coloured pencils and low odour spirits.

I found the papers in my stash, they were free with a craft mag last winter, and i thought they went perfectly with Ian and Anya.  I diecut and oval scallop frame and added some pearls to it, i then embossed my image with a snowy embossing folder and attached this image to my frame.  I also embossed the green background paper, after i'd used a border punch to cut a snowflake border.  Finally i assembled my card adding the sentiment and a few more pearls as a finishing touch.

Don't Ian and Anya look warm and cosy in their seasonal outfits, make sure you visit Club Anya and the rest of the DT to see what wonderful cards they have created with these two adorable characters. Leave a comment at Club Anya and you could win these two beauties in today's draw.

Make sure you come back tomorrow for more amazing previews, there is so much more to see this week :)

You're a Star....

Yes, that's right You're a Star, a Karate Star!!!  Today sees the first previews of the wonderful new releases from The Greeting Farm, so let me introduce Karate Ian, isn't he adorable!!  Ian and Anya will be available in their Karate outfits as digital stamps on the 15th November.

I had so much fun with this card, i love working with digital stamps, and one of my favourite things to do, is flip the image, so i get 2 stamps for the price of 1 (gotta love a bargain!!).  That's exactly what i did for this card, i flipped Ian, and then arranged him, so i had room for a sentiment between my two little cuties.  The sentiment came from a stencil i had in my collection, along with the stars. Ian and Ian are coloured with promarkers, and then i added some glittery shine to there belts with a couple of stardust glitter pens.   The sentiment is also coloured in stardust yellow glitter pen, so it's really pretty in real life.

Make sure you visit Club Anya today, to see the wonderful creations by the DT, and don't forget to leave a comment, as one lucky person will WIN both of today's digis.

Don't forget to come back every day this week, as we have loads of wonderful new Club Anya goodies to share with you, all culminating with a  Blog..I mean "SPA Hop"!  We could all use some extra pampering this time of year as we prepare for the holiday madness and can all use a little de-stressing!  Our CLUB ANYA SPA HOP will take place on Sunday, Nov 15th from 12AM to 8PM CST.  Each DT member will have a little goodie to give away so be sure to join in on the fun!

See you tomorrow for more previews.....

Savannah in Autumn

Isn't she beautiful, if you've not seen this gorgeous creature before her name is 'Savannah' and she is one of the wonderful Wild Sprouts Collection you can find over at The Greeting Farm.

This is the first card i've had chance to use her on, and i must admit i've taken my time with it, as i wanted to get it just right; there is just something about her which makes you want to surround her with pretty things.

I wanted to keep this card fairly simple, not sure if i managed that or not, lol.  I created an easel card blank from white cardstock, which i stamped Savannah on.  I then decided to colour the background in a nice buttercup colour, i then continued to colour Savannah in with my promarkers.  I guess with it being Autumn the colour scheme just came to me, i've been seeing all the beautiful autumnal colours in the leaves on the trees outside, i think it must have got into my subconscious.

After colouring Savannah i decided she needed to be framed, my first thought was a ribbon frame, but that's something i've done alot recently, so i thought that for a change i would use some flowers, afterall no point having them if i never use them :)  I altered the colour of them slightly by using my promarkers on them, so they coordinate better with Savannah.  I then added a mixture of pearls, gems and brads to the centres of them, and arranged them around the image.  I then remembered i had some gorgeous 3d butterfly stickers in my stash that would go well with the colours, so i added one of them.

To complete the card i decided it needed a sentiment of some sorts, i found this box of die cut proverbs in my stash recently and have decided to use them on some of my cards.  As i was looking through them i came across the following proverb; 'A fair face may fade, but a beautiful soul lasts forever.'  This proverb seemed to fit nicely with the finished card, so that's the one i settled on.

I've used alot more embellishments on this card than i usually do, but i think it's turned out well, i would love to hear what you think?  Thanks for visiting my blog, i really do appreciate you taking the time to visit and read my ramblings, and i love reading your comments :)

Thanks
Suzi
