Swing those Pigtails!!!

Meet Ali everyone!  She has some serious Pigtail action going on... do you not love it?!!  That outfit makes me want to sew myself a tutu, buy a skull shirt and bust out my stripped tights!!
I love the paper I used on this card, It's from the Little Girl Collection by Echo Park.  I love those cute little birdies.  With my paper being so busy I decided to keep the rest of the card very plain, not sure if it worked, but I kinda like it. Hope you like it too, want to see more of Ali, then check out the DT's creations over at the Simply Betty Stamps Blog, I know you'll find them inspiring, I definately do.

Tweedle Dee, Tweedle Dum, I see doubles!!

It's Tuesday, So that means it is time for a new challenge over at The Burtonesque Dolls.  This week's challenge is ...
Tweedle Dee, Tweedle Dum, I see doubles!!
All you have to do is create a set of twins, let your imagination run wild!!
Here's my card..
As you can see I went for Identical Twins, who have their own individual styles.  I used the gorgeous 'Pipper' from the Burtonweenies by Simply Betty Stamps for my card.  I kept the rest of my card very simply, using a mix of black and white cardstock, some black and white washi tape, a printed sentiment from Gottapixel.com, along with some butterflies punched from card I'd coloured with my promarkers to coordinate with my images.

A Magical Monday Blast from the Past!!

This week Ildiko Cseh brings us our challenge. She wants us to do a card/project that reflects the era from the 1920's-1930's. So... this one is a little more of a challenge... so do your best and try not to stress over it too much. It was a tough one for me, but I like my card and in the end that is what matters! :O)

This is my last project as a member of the Paper Cupcakes DT, I can hardly believe it's been three months already, I had a wonderful time working with Nina's beautiful images, and great fun with the challenges, some of which were more challenging than others.  I hope you've enjoyed looking at my creations, and have been inspired to join in and have some fun.

Today we have Ariel, she is one smart, cute, and sassy little miss! I love her glasses... they have Skulls on them! Pretty snazzy eh! How can we not say she's Sassy with her little hand on the hip stance right!?

What do you think of her?  I bet you just want to color her up?!!

I used some more of my Echo Park Playground paper, along with an Inkadinkado sentiment stamp, and some Die-namic Dies.  Ariel is coloured with Letraset Promarkers.  To embellish my card I added some White Card Candi, and some lines and bird with black pencil.

2 Sisters + The Stamping Boutique = A Fairy Pretty Challenge!!!

I like Fairies, How about you?  If you do you'll love the current challenge over at 2 Sisters Challenge Blog; The theme of the challenge is Fairies, nice and simple.  The challenge is sponsored by The Stamping Boutique who have some absolutely adorable fairy images, so I thought I'd use one in my card for this challenge.

I chose to use the beautiful 'Swan Song' image from The Enchantment Collection at The Stamping Boutique.  I wanted to keep my card 'fairy' simple, and make the image the main focal point of the card, so my background is very plain, just a scrap of Echo Park's Playground Paper which i stuck to a pale blue card blank.   To embellish the card I created some Butterflies using my Martha Stewart Butterfly punch with some coloured cellophane.  I used a Quickie Glue pen to stick my Butterflies to the card, and finished it all off with a 'Celebrate' rub-on sentiment.

A Wicked Belated Father's Day Card

I finally got round to giving my Dad his Father's Day for this year, as little late, but definately better late than never.
I did actually have the card made in advance, I just hadn't had the chance to give it to him, but I resolved that today.

It's a very simple card, I wanted to keep the image my main focal point.  The image is called 'Wicked Fun' by TiddlyInks.com.
I coloured the image with Prismacolour pencils and a little oms.  Used a border punch to create the notebook paper effect.  The background paper was some left over digital paper I had lying on my desk.  I made my card base from some red cardstock, and then layered on my paper and images, adding some red washi tape.  To finish my card I added the sentiment, using Tiny Alphabet stickers and a scrap of yellow cardstock.
I still can't decide if it's a little too plain?  But I couldn't think of anything to add to it that would improve it, so I guess the the best time to stop working on something.
Hopefully my Dad liked it, I'm sure he did, I did anyway, lol!!

Be Inspired with Magical Monday's at Paper Cupcakes

It's Monday so time for another Magical Monday Challenge with Paper Cupcakes.  Our challenge this week was chosen by Patti.

This week's Challenge: Be Inspired

Be inspired by the below picture in anyway it moves you to be creative

I love this picture, it's perfect for an inspiration piece, having so many different aspects, giving so much scope for creation.  I took my inspiration from the various sizes of bottles and their bluey/green translucent qualities.

Here's my card...
I used the beautiful 'Summer Breeze' image from Paper Cupcakes and coloured it with prismacolour pencils.  My background is made up with layers of Washi tape. To finish the card I added a rub on sentiment, and coloured part of it to coordinate with my image.

I hope you find the challenge as inspiring as I did, have a wonderful week.

Wanna be in the Movies?

Today's sneek peak will be combined with our fortnightly Burtonesque Dolls challenge.
Meet Ellanore... she is such a cutie pie! I love that doll of hers!  Ellanore is dying to be put into a Burton film... who wouldn't want to be a part of that world right?

So our challenge is....
PUT ME IN A BURTON MOVIE!

Which means take your image, any image and put that image in any Burton film... think Alice, Mrs. Lovette, Lidia, PeeWee Herman, Jack Skellington... the sky's the limit!

As you can see I was inspired by The Corpse Bride, and turned Ellanore into Emily!  Definately one of my favourite Burton films, such beautiful animation.

Need some more inspiration then hop over to the Burtonesque Dolls Blog to see what the rest of the DT have created, I can't wait to see your Burton Movie Stars.

Magical Monday - Take 2

Welcome to another Magical Monday with Paper Cupcakes.  This week Gloria Westerman brings us our challenge. She wants you to pick two of these elements: Flowers, Ribbons, Pearls/Gem and/or die cut and use them on your project in any way. It's that easy peasy, so get creating!

I put rose tinted glasses on to create this card, and came up with a beautiful creation using different shades of my favourite colour.  My image is coloured with prismacolour pencils and oms.  I used scraps of pink patterned paper for my background, adding some faux stitching to tie it all together.  I added a ribbon detail along the left and bottom edge of the card finishing with a bow with flower gem and pearl centre.  I used some sparkly gel stickers around my image to create a heart shaped frame, and added some pink pearls to the centre for an extra bit of bling and dimension.

Such a cute image, and you can download it yourself for free, if you just pop over to There's Magic in The Air with Paper Cupcakes

Have a magical monday

Meet Belladonna

Don't ya just love that name... of course it probably will remind many of you of a non Burton film...
Practical Magic!

Isn't she wonderful, such a sassy attitude to go with the awesome name.  I had fun with this card playing around with a Cheery Lynn Lattice Die and some strips of zebra print paper. I printed the 'Butterfly Wishes' sentiment and trimmed it to fit into the lattice frame, then decided that if you've got a butterfly sentiment you need some butterflies on your card. So I added some Blue 3D Butterfly stickers, along with some Black Butterfly punches.

Come back tomorrow to meet another spunky Burton-weenie
Have a great day

Magical Monday with a Masculine Twist

It's Monday again, so time for another Magical Monday Challenge with Paper Cupcakes.  This week Belinda Lewis brings us our challenge. She would like to see us make anything male/masculine in a card or any type of project.
I decided to use the Sentiment Cupcake for my card, not the most masculine image, but I think it looks quite masculine in shades of blue, green and purple.  Afterall even Men like cakes, lol!
I coloured my image with prismacolour pencils, and a little oms to blend.  Then die cut my image and added a faux stitched border.  For my background I used a scrap of angel fibre paper along with some strips of blue and green washi tape.  I then added a piece of silver mirror card to my background before adding my main image.  I added a few more strips of washi tape, along with some blue glass effect embellishments.
I look forward to your take on this 'masculine' challenge
Have a wonderful week
