Whimsy Wednesday Challenge Time

It's Wednesday again, so time for a fun new challenge over at the  Whimsy Stamps Challenge Blog.  This week's challenge is really simple, and lots of fun, and a really great way to make a quick card.

Paper Piecing - just stamp/print your image onto some pretty paper and get cutting those pieces.

I chose to paper piece the adorable Frog Prince by Crissy Armstrong.  I printed my image onto some green paper for his body, and yellow for his crown.  I then created a little background scene for him with some coordinating papers.  I layered it all together adding a little shading to the Frog with my promarkers, along with a little bling on his crown with some rhinestuds.  I then added my sentiment using tiny alphabet stickers.

I think he looks kinda cute, nearly as cute as Kermit lol!!
Hop over to the Whimy Stamps Challenge Blog to see what the rest of the DT have created to inspire you, and get all the details how to join in the challenge.
Bye for now

Pixie Sneaky Peek #2

My sneak peek today features the adorable Pixie and Peep image from the BREEZE Collection. I've had this pack of pretty pastel floral papers in my stash for quite a while now, and not got round to using them, so i thought they would work perfectly with this image.

I coloured Pixie and Peep in with Letraset Promarkers & Flexmarkers to coordinate with my papers, die cut my image and one of the background papers with a wonky rectangle die.  I then layered my papers onto my card blank.  I added some pleated ribbon at the bottom of the card to soften the edge, and a ticket sentiment from my stash.

I love how pretty and pale this card looks, not my usual colour scheme, but it definately works.  Make sure you come back tomorrow for the BREEZE Collection Release and a New Pixie Dust Studio Challenge too!

A Sneaky Peek Breeze

It's nearly time for a new release at the Pixie Dust Studio, so it's time for us to give you a little sneaky peek of what's coming....

Today I'd like to introduce you to 'Catching a Smile', such a beautiful image, and it just shouted Springtime to me, so I combined it with some papers by SEI from their Corrine Paper Pad.  I coloured my image with Letraset Promarkers & Flexmarkers, before cutting it out with an Egg shaped die; I used the same die to cut two of the background papers, and then layered them all to give the impression of wings.  To finish my card i stamped the sentiment and added some faux stitching to all the pieces.

Catching a Smile will be available on March 1st along with the rest of the BREEZE Collection. If you can't wait till tomorrow for more sneaky peeks, then why not go visit with some Pixies and see the before creations they have to share with you.

Have a great day

CASE an Old Card with the Pixies

It's Thursday, so it's Pixie Dust Day, time for a new challenge over at the Pixie Dust Studio Challenge Blog.  This week we are asking you to CASE an Old Card, It could be a card you made, or maybe one by one of my fellow Pixies, it's up to you, but please let us see the card your CASEing along with your creation.

Here's my cards
and here are the cards I CASED
The cards i CASED were created by the very talented Margie Cortina, and you can find more of her wonderful creations on her blog or check out her Splitcoast Stampers Gallery.

For my card I used the Little King and Little Queen images from the Once Collection. I used papers from SEI's Jocelyn Paper Pad along with some white cardstock, kraft paper, and TH Adage Tickets. To embellish my cards I added some flowers, rhinestuds, gems, a epoxy brad, and some pink velvet ribbon.

I had great fun with this challenge, the hardest part was deciding whose cards to CASE, I spent quite a while browsing through the Pixie Dust Studio cards posted at Splitcoaststampers.  I have to say the browsing was just as much fun as the CASEing, there really are some gorgeous creations over there.

I hope you'll have time to play along with us, and don't forget to link your card to the challenge blog to be in with the chance of winning.

A Monochromatic Whimsy Wednesday

It's Wednesday, so that must mean it's time for a new challenge over at the Whimsy Stamps Challenge Blog.  This week's challenge is definately one of my favourites, we're getting Monochromatic!! All you have to do is make your project Monochromatic, so pick a colour and use different shades of that for you whole project, or the main focal point.

For my card I used the adorable 'I Love' image by Lia Stampz available at Whimsy Stamps Store. I used some brown cardstock from my stash along with some Kraft paper, to create my card blank and background.  I used the large embossing folder from the TH LOVE Embossing Folder set to emboss my kraft paper before distressing the edges and adhering it to my card.  I stapled a TH Adage Ticket to my background before adding my cute little mouse.  My mouse is coloured with a mix of Letraset Promarkers and Flexmarkers.

I kind of like the rustic distressed look this card has, and I adore the mouse image.
Thanks for visiting with me today, and I hope you find time to play along with our challenge.

Love Letters and Envelopes!!

Today I finally got round to colouring one of my Saturated Canary Images, If you've not seen these adorable images by Krista Smith, then you really do need to visit her Etsy Store, as it's jam packed with beautiful digital images.  This image is called Love Letters.

As you know I like a challenge, so decided to have a browse over at  Challenge Forum to see what the current challenges were, and the current Free 4 All challenge caught my eye; the challenge being to either add an envelope to your card or create a Crimped Envelope Card.

I decided to try my hand at the Crimped Envelope Card, however I don't have a paper crimper, so i decided to use an embossing folder instead.  I used two folders from the TH Love Set of Embossing Folders. Using the larger one for the main part of the envelope card, and one of the border folders for the top bit.

I'm entering this card into the following challenge:
Cards for Men - Valentines Day/Love
Hooked on Crafts - Hearts
Dieing for a Challenge - Anything Goes - must include a die cut
Less is More - Punches or Die cuts
Splitcoast Stampers - F4A104 - Envelopes

That is all from me for today, pop back tomorrow for Whimsy Wednesday
Have a great day

Happy Birthday Dad

Today I thought I would share with your the card I've made for my Dad; It's his birthday today, but unfortunately he's working away this week, so it will be a few days before he gets to see it.

The Image is called 'Clocks' and available as part of the Halloween Steampunk Rubber Sheet at Simply B Stamps. As soon as I saw this wonderful Simply B Stamps image i knew I wanted to use it for my Dad's birthday card, as the image really reminds me of my dad;
Do you see the similarity?  The photo is from the happiest day of my life, my wedding day; My parents look so happy, it really was a wonderful day for us all.

That's all from me for today, hope you all have a wonderful day.

Pixie Dust Challenge #113 Double the Fun!

It's time for a new challenge over at the Pixie Dust Studio Challenge Blog, and this really is a fun one, infact it's double the fun..

~Use 2 or more images on your card~
This week, we are challenging you to use two or more images on your image with two people/animals certainly counts!

Here's my card...
For my card I chose 4 images from 'The Red Cape' Collection of images, including Big Red the Horse, Cottage in the Trees, Peter the Woodcutter and The Cape.  I created my little scene in photoshop, simply adding each image as a different layer, and erasing the white background from each image; then it was just a matter of arranging the images in a pleasing composition.

My images are coloured with Letraset Promarkers & Flexmarkers.  I distressed the edge of my scene, then added some distressing ink to the edges.  Using a punchinella template i added some more distress ink to my image.  To finish my card i added a leftover piece of patterned paper behind my image, along with some paper roses, a TH Ticket Sentiment, and a few staples.

I have to say this card really showcases what i love about digital stamps, with a little manipulation of sizes you can create some wonderful scenes to colour and add to your cards.

Remember you don't have to be a techy wizard to create a scene like this, if your not that confident with the computer, simply print your images out individually, and then fussy cut, and create your scene on your card.  Whichever way you choose to do it, just remember to have fun and link your card to the Pixie Dust Challenge Blog to be in with the chance of winning a free image.

Have Fun

Dream with Party Lola..

How did you like Pugsly Christian yesterday? Pretty cute, huh? Well today we have Party Lola...

Lola is usually a favorite in all lines! She is just as awesome and just as cute as ever in her party dress! Those balloons are sure to carry her off to your Birthday party or Maybe she'll travel further than that!!

I kept this card very simple, so simple infact I scared myself!!  I took a black card blank, added a sky background digital paper(printed ages ago) the very pretty Party Lola, and I then stamped my sentiments; the sentiments are from a Kaisercrafts set of sentiments stamps, some lovely sentiments in the set, and only a couple of quid off ebay!

I apologise for the poor stamping of the sentiments, looks like i should have been working on a firmer surface, but I'll learn and move on!

Make sure you hop over to the Simply B Stamps Blog to see what the rest of the DT did with this gorgeous image.

Bye for now
Have a Blessed Sunday

It's Your Day!

It’s time for another awesome release from Simply B Stamps! This time, it’s all about partying. You are going to love this new collection. It can be used all year long, for anyone.

Let’s get this party started!

This is Teen Scene Birthday Pugsly Christian; He is all ready to go to a party. He even brought a cupcake!  I coloured Pugsly with my Letraset Promarkers/Flexmarkers. My background papers are from SEI's Happy Day Paper Pad (except the orange star paper, which is a digi paper).
I added a little Wild Honey Distress Ink to the background of my image with a sponge, and a Crafters Workshop Mini Punchinella template.

For my layout I used this weeks Sketch from Splitcoast Stampers, I love the idea of turning the front of the card into a little flap, so i trimmed my card front down, and then used my Martha Stewart Scary Fence punch to create my decorative edge.  My sentiment is a Sizzix Die from the Sentiments Boxset.

That's all for today, make sure you pop back tomorrow for another sneaky peek.
Thanks for visiting with me,
Have a great day

Whimsy Stamps Wednesday Challenge: Make your own flowers..and New Releases too!!

It's Wednesday again, so time for another fun challenge over at the Whimsy Stamps Challenge Blog.  This week all you have to do is 'Make Your Own Flowers', nice and easy eh!

Here's my card for today's challenge..
Isn't the image cute? He is called Raggedy Boy Adorably Yours from StampArt Design by Kathryne and is one of the new releases available today at Whimsy Stamps.

To make my flowers i used the Shape EZ Magnolia Flower also available at Whimsy Stamps; I printed the flower parts and leaves onto white cardstock, and coloured them with my Letraset Promarkers & Flexmarkers.  I then cut my flowers and leaves out by hand, and ran them through my embossing machine with a couple of embossing folders to give some extra texture.  I then simply layered the leaves and flowers, glued them together with glue dots, and added a pearl to the centre of each flower.

I kept the rest of my card very simple, using some Martha Stewart punches to create decorative borders on my background paper, and cardstock.  My sentiments are also from Whimsy Stamps; Treasured Moments Tickets cut with the Shapeology Ticket Die

Remember I said it was Release Day too, well i couldn't resist making another card to share with you, this card features the adorable Library Mouse by Lia Stampz,
I'm not usually a fan of mice, i'm more of a cat lady, but you have to check out the adorable new mice images Lia Stampz have released today; not only are they great fun to colour, but each image comes with a selection of sentiments that coordinate perfectly.

Well that's all from me for now, I hope you like my cards, and make sure you hop over to the Whimsy Stamps Store to check out all of the images released today, every one of them is a beauty.

Have a great day
