SBS Olympics: The 100m Zombie Chase!!

Did you enjoy the Opening Ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics last night?? Not that it matters here, cos was matter to me is the 2012 SBS Olympics, that's going to be much more fun, and definitely more my style.

We've come up with a wonderful list of events/challenges for you to take part in, and some great prizes.  To keep it fair, and to try and keep the peace in the DT, the DT can not take part in the events, but they will be providing inspiration for you, and Cheerleading for their Team.

Today's Event is the 100m Zombie Chase, we want to see atleast one SBS image on your project, and some zombies, it's as simple as that.  Here's my card...

I decided that Thrillin' Rio would be my Zombie, and she's chasing Marathon Betty.  My background is from a decoupage kit that came free with a craft magazine this morning (perfect timing I thought) and my sign is from a sentiment pack I created the other day.

Want to take part in our challenge, here is what you have to do, along with some rules, and a run down of the prizes;

To make the SBS Olympics as fair as possible we have a few rules for you to follow:
Create your project and take a pic.
Either leave unwatermarked or watermark with 'Team GB' or 'Team USA', whichever of the two teams you want to represent.
Then email your picture to
Please include your name and email addy for our records
The Team you are representing
The Event/Challenge that you card is to be entered into.

The picture of your project will then be added to a photo album on facebook, before being added to the Event/Challenge Blog Post using a linky tool.
Once all the Events/Challenges have closed, you will be able to vote for your favourite project from each Event/Challenge.
We ask that you do not vote for you own project, or solicit votes from friends or family for your project.  We want to keep the voting as fair as possible.
Voting closes on 11th August.
All winners will be announced in our Closing Ceremony Blog Post on the 12th August.
We would love it if you posted your projects on your personal blogs on the 12th August.

Winners for each event will received badges for their blogs stating the medal they won and for what event.

The 3 people who win the most daily events/challenge (or if their is a tie for daily events, has received the most individual votes) will be award the following prizes:

Overall Gold Medal Winner gets a discount code for 10% of purchases in the SBS Store for 1 year (excluding sale items, and shipping costs)

Overall Silver Medal Winner gets a discount code for 7% of purchases in the SBS Store for 1 year (excluding sale items, and shipping costs)

Overall Bronze Medal Winner gets a discount code for 5% of purchases in the SBS Store for 1 year (excluding sales items, and shipping costs).

We will also be announcing which Team has won the most medals.

Sorry the rules etc is a little long winded, but we want to make the 2012 SBS Olympics as much fun as we can for everyone taking part.

Pop back tomorrow to see what our next Event/Challenge is, It's gonna be wicked.
Bye for now

Unusual Alice with PPP

It's time for me to share with you my PPP DT project for this month, and this months challenge is truly wonderful, we want you to take a trip to Wonderland, but make it a little different!!

Our challenge is called 'Unusual Alice' - Make an Alice in Wonderland inspired project with your own little twist.

We are very lucky to by sponsored by The Stamping Boutique this month, and Tracey has some awesome Alice images in her store, and this months challenge winner gets to choose 3 digis from The Stamping Boutique, the only thing the winner will find difficult is trying to decide on just 3 images.  Tracey's images have a wonderful fun whimisical feel to them, and are perfect for so many different occasions, I highly recommend you hop over to The Stamping Boutique Store and have a good browse, your gonna fall in love for sure!

Here's my Unusual Alice Card...
For my card I used the awesome 'Alice in Wonderland: Mad Hatter image' from The Stamping Boutique.  I coloured my image in with Letraset Promarkers and Flexmarkers, before trimming my image and using the crackle border & corner punches from Martha Stewart for the edging.  I then matted my image onto black gloss card stock.  I made a card blank from some more black gloss card, to which i added my patterned paper (Dovecraft: Monochrome, I think).  I then added some washi tape and shimmer bubble stickers for a little contrast.  I added my main image at a jaunty angle, to finish the card off I added the Mad Hatter sentiment using some glitter foam stickers I got from a £1 shop ages ago.  I love how this turned out, weird, wacky, and sparkly, just like me tehe!!

The Unusual Alice Challenge runs for another two weeks, so you've still got plenty of time to join in.  Just blog your project and then link up on the PPP Blog.

Anything Goes at SCC

It's time for another new challenge over at Simply Challenged Challenges, it's the 21st of the month so that means it's our Anything Goes Challenge; Create whatever you fancy just use a SBS image on it somewhere.

To add an extra twist to the challenge for the SCC DT we were all given the same image to work with, Miss Betty Burton from the Burton 2 Chibis Collection.  She's such a cute versatile image, and if you hop over to the SCC Blog you'll see just how versatile she is, as every card looks completely different.  Here's my card...
I decided to go for a vintage pink theme with this card, Miss Betty is coloured with Letraset Promarkers and a little white gel pen.  My papers come from a Raspberry and Champagne Paper Pack by Papermania, it's been hiding in my stash for a while, but i figured it was perfect for this card.  I kept my embellishment very simple, adding 3 flower embellishments to which I added a pearl centre, and a few tiny pearls scattered around the card.  Very simple, but i think it looks rather elegant too.

Just to show you how different Miss Betty Burton can look, here is a few other cards i've made with her, you may have seen these before, but i think they look awesome together too.

Sammy and David Hop

A special digi pack and a special hop for two special boys.

Hi everyone! 2 crafty friends Liz Martinez and Claudia Harvey both have the blessing to be moms of special kids. Liz's boy name is David and Claudia's boy name is Sammy. They have some things in common,  right now they are having some financial challenges to afford their autism kids’ therapies.

So Berenice had the idea to create a fund by donating the sales of digital stamps to help them to pay part of their kids therapies.  Betty Roberts and Karla Barradas have created some digital stamps that have been put it in a "Digi Pack" all sales made will go to Sammy & David therapies fund.

By purchasing the images, you will help these boys in a huge way. :) You can purchase them here

Now on to our HOP!!!
You should have come here from Corinne's blogif not then please go there so you don't miss out on anything. Please help us spread the word to help these two wonderful families out!

I used the adorable image that Betty Roberts donated to the pack.  I coloured Sammy and David with Prismacolour pencils and a blender pencil.  I wanted to represent Autism on this card, without making too much fuss, so i decided to take my colour scheme from the Autism Awareness Logo along with the puzzle pieces.  I used the Puzzle Sizzlets from Sizzix to create my puzzle.  The friends sentiment is created using the Die-namics Upper and Lowercase Alphabet dies.

Now on to Irene's Blog

Can You Digi It Challenge14: At the Beach

Today I have a little news for you, I've been lucky enough to asked to join the Can You Digi It DT, and I was delighted to say yes.  They have a wonderful selection of images available in their store, by a variety of artists, and are adding more new artist to the mix all the time. They also have some wonderful digikits for cardmakers and scrapbookers, so hope over to the store to see what goodies they have to tempt you with.

Today we launch a new challenge over at the CYDI Blog and the theme for this challenge is...AT THE BEACH.   Check out the inspiration board and join us in the challenge for your chance to win a $10 CYDI? Store gift certificate!
Here is my card inspired by the theme...
I used the adorable Emma & Edward at Sea image by LilyPink Designs for my card. I coloured my image with a mix of Letraset Promarkers and Flexmarkers.  I added a quote from 'I Must Go Down to the Sea' by John Masefield instead of a sentiment, I also added a hand drawn frame around the edge of my image and quote to tie it all together.  To add a little bit of extra interest and finish my card off I added a few strips of washi tape, to add a little more red to the card and a little texture.

Let's Hop with Jude & the Rockers:Kids in Space

Welcome to the SimplyBStamps Jude and the Rockers, Kids in Space Hop.  We have some wonderful ladies joining us and they have prepared one amazing Hop for you to see!  Of course it is beginning at the SBS blog... you should have arrived from Janine's blog, if not, then start at the beginning, cos you don't want to miss a single stop.

My first cards for you today feature Astronaut Oscar and Astronaut Ariel. I used papers from Prima's 'Hello Spaceboy' Paper Pad for Oscars card, and Bo Bunny's Blast Off for Ariel.  Oscar and Ariel are both coloured with Letraset Promarkers & Flexmarkers.  I kept both of these cards very simple, as I wanted the papers to help create the scene, and didn't want too many distractions.  I used Cosmo Cricket's Tiny Type Alphabet Stickers for my sentiment on both cards.

My next card features Battle Galactica Lilly, I used the same 'Hello Spaceboy' Papers for this card, with the addition of some lime card stock, yellow stars and tiny type alphabet stickers.

My final card for today's hop is my favourite, it's features Outta this world Ali, and I couldn't resist colouring her as if she was a little red martian.  I can't believe how cute she turned out.  I used Bo Bunny's Blast Off papers on this card, with the addition of some red cardstock, and a MFT die and stamp set for the sentiment.

Well that's all for me, but there is still more to see!   Please hop on over to Tanja's blog!
Now in case you get lost, here's the complete list of our Hoppin' Gals!

Please leave them some lovin', six people will be chosen to win one of these cute images... but which blog they will all be chosen one knows!

DICC #34 - Bring me Sunshine

It's the 15th July, so time for an new challenge over at the Desert Island Crafters Challenge Blog, I hope your all having a good summer, looks like we've skipped summer in the UK, haven't seen Mr Sunshine for quite a while, only Mr Wind and Rain :(

So to cheer us all up I created the Itinerary for our new challenge, I'm sure this list will put a smile on your face, time for some happy creations.

My Itinerary
1 -Sunshine

2 -Trees

3 -Fluffy Bunnies
4 -Picnic time
5 -Kraft coloured card/paper
6 -add some texture
7 -friendship
8 -A happy sentiment
9 -Brads and eyelets
10 -Anything but a card

I used #'s 1, 2, 3, 7, 8 and 10.  The image is called "Cute Dancing Rabbit" by Jellypark.
I flipped the cute bunny, and then printed it out in a few different sizes; coloured it with Letraset Promarkers, then fussy cut them out.  I used papers from Echo Parks Summer Days collection.  My project is not a card, but a wall hanging, I thought it would be nice to create something bright and summery to hang on my craft room wall, as it's not very summery here at the moment.

Hop over to the DICC Blog to see the wonderful summery cards the rest of the DT have created for your inspiration.  Hope you'll find time to join in our summery challenge, I look forward to see some sunshiny projects.

Will You Be My Jedi Knight??

Will You?  Every Girl who grew up in the 80's must have seen Star Wars numerous times whether they wanted to or not!  Originally I didn't like Star Wars; but that was because my brother did!  However, I grew older and wiser, and embraced the force and everything else sci-fi related until in my 20s my friends would class me as a sci-fi geek lol!!

So you can imagine the joy i felt when i first say Jedi Betty, she's perfect, the perfect sci-fi princess, brave, strong and not afraid to fight for what she believes in.

I finally got round to putting Jedi Betty onto a card tonight, She was the first of the Bettys 3 collection that I coloured, I just couldn't decide what to put in the background.  So tonight i printed the sentiment, and layered Betty and the sentiment onto some Lime Green Cardstock.  I made a card blank out of Diamond White Cardstock and then place the image and sentiment on top to see how it would look.  I love how it looks against the white cardstock, so I decided that was all it needed.  I'm still in shock, as Clean & Simple cards are really not me, I usually have quite a complicated background behind my image, whether it's hand coloured or a pretty patterned paper.  I must admit tho, i do love this card.

You can get Jedi Betty along with the rest of the Bettys 3 Collection in digi format for just a few more days, they are only available until Sunday night, and then they are off into outer space, and we don't know when they will reappear in digi form, if they ever do!!  So get them now whilst you can, cos you will do need them.

Don't think Mucha this Summer!

Today i'd like to share with you this pretty card with features the A. Much Influence - Summer image from The Paper Shelter. I recently discovered The Paper Shelter, and I have to say they have a wonderful selection of beautifully drawn very cute images, I had real trouble limiting myself to just a couple of images.  I love the fact this with a lot of their images, including this one, you get the background as a separate image aswell as the main character on her own, and then the whole composition together.  Really adds an extra diversity to the image, and you get coloured versions too, which is great if your new to colouring and like to have a reference pic.

I coloured this cutie with a mix of Letraset Promarkers and Flexmarkers with the addition of a little white gel pen.  I used papers from the Boho Chic collection by First Edition.  I die cut my swirls, sentiment and sentiment label, and used a border punch to create my centre band.  To finish my card off I added a few green pearls.

I'd like to enter this into this weeks challenge over at The Paper Shelter Challenge Blog. I'm also using it as my entry for their DT Call.

A Weighty Olympic Hop!!

It's finally time for you to see the last of the Sweet Gothic Kid Olympians, and to join us in a Release Day Blog Hop. You should have arrived from Simply B Stamps Blog, if so, you on the right track, if not you'll find the full hop list at the bottom of this post.

Here's my creation featuring the very strong Weight Lifting Scott

As you can see Scott is an All American Boy, so i thought the perfect background for him would be the Flag of the United States of America.  I cut strips of red card and added it to a white card blank, and then used some blue polka dot paper to represent the stars on the flag.  I love how the background turned out, so bold and brave just like Scott.

You can get Scott along with the rest of the Sweet Gothic Kid Olympians in the Simply B Stamps Store now, you can also treat yourself to the brand new Bettys 3 Collection which is available for a very limited time in digi form.

Don't forget to leave some love at each stop, as there will be random winners selected from comments throughout the hop.

Let's Dance!

Today I get to share with you one of my favourite images from the Sweet Gothic Kids Olympic Collection, this is Gymnast Sally, isn't she beautiful, and graceful and elegant, everything I wanted to be when I was a child. If you can't wait till Friday to get your hands on this little beauty, then you can get all 6 SGK Olympic images for $20, a special pre-release deal.

The background for my card was inspired by Sally's dress, I found this lovely shocking pink paper in my stash with sewing on it which reminded me of her ribbon. I had the little flower sequins and seed beads in my stash too, and knew they would look fantastic as a border round my image.  I mounted my image onto the yellow cardstock, then pricked some holes around it to create the frame, before sewing on the sequins and beads.  To finish my card off i added some velvet ribbon, and some pink bling, along with my diecut sentiment.

Don't forget to hop over to the SBS Blog to see Betty's beautiful creations and to see who else has been creating with Sally.

Thanks for visiting with me today, and come back tomorrow for another sweet sneak peek.

Take a Leap of Faith with a Sweet Gothic Kid

Welcome to another preview of the adorable Sweet Gothic Kids Olympic collection, available at  Today I'd like to introduce you to Diver Judy..
Isn't she beautiful, and such a serene, calm expression on her face, i know if i was taking a dive like that it would be sheer panic written across my face!  I can't believe how little i actually put on this card, but i think it works.  I find it really hard to leave white space on my cards, but it really can make the image pop more than the fanciest of patterned papers.
The sentiment is a freebie from Create with TLC and just captures that faith and belief it must take to make such a leap into the unknown.

Want to see some more creations featuring the beautiful Diver Judy, then hop over to the SBS Blog where Betty has a couple of gorgeous creations to share with you, along with links to some awesome creations by the SCC DT.

Thank you for visiting with me
Have a wonderful day
