Dark Fairy Tales at PPP

Hello everyone and welcome to our 6th Challenge at Poisoned Peas Please (PPP). Our theme this time around is “Dark” Fairy Tales!

I am here with some more Dark inspiration for your creative minds!

We were provided with several wonderful digi stamps from Ike's Art, for this challenge! Ike's Art is our sponsor this month, and one lucky Random winner will win a $10.00 gift certificate to her store!

Here is my creation based on a 'Dark' Beauty & the Beast, where it's the Beauty that you really can't trust;
I imported the 'Beauty and the Beast' image into Photoshop where i added my sentiment, before printing it out, and colouring with a mix of Letraset Promarkers and Flexmarkers.
I love the idea that just because someone is beautiful or ugly on the outside, it doesn't mean that they are the same on the inside.  I went with shades of blue for my beauty to give the impression of a cold lack of emotion, with the red lips as a danger sign, and to tempt the poor beast.

I kept my embellishments to a minimum, a little heart patterned washi tape to imply the stirring of emotions, the twine is wrapped up and twisted around a cold blue heart, speaks for itself i think.

I hope this pieces speaks to you in the way i've described, if not, I'd love to hear what it says to you.

Our challenge runs for another 12 days, so you've still plenty of time to join in, I look forward to seeing your Dark Fairy Tales.

Anything Goes at SCC, well almost anything ...

It's time for the monthly Anything Goes challenge over at Simply Challenged Challenges, the only requirement is that you use a SBS image, which i'm sure you've all got lots of by now; if not? why not?

For this months challenge the DT decided to get a little festive, and play with some Christmas Zombies, as some people say it's never too early to start on your Christmas cards, and I agree, but they do need to be a little twisted, like me lol!!

Here's my festive creation;
I decided to go with very traditional Christmas colours for a change, and used paper and cardstock from a DCWV Christmas Scrapbooking Stack I had in my stash.  I do love 8 x 8 paper pads, they work so well when making an A5 card, and that is my favourite card size.

My image is the very cute Fa-La-La-La-La Lexi from the Christmas Zombie Collection.  I coloured with Letraset Promarkers and added some Ultra Fine White Flowersoft to her outfit to simulate fur.  It's the first time i've used Flowersoft and I have to say I do like the effect. To embellish my card I added some green star eyelets to which I added red brads.  I like the two tone effect this gives, and the extra dimension.

I think that's enough waffling from me for one post, Hopefully you'll have time to do some crafting and play along with our challenges over at SCC, remember each challenge runs for a month, so you've plenty of time to join in, and we'd love to see your creations.

Ride Like The Wind Betty!!

I've had real fun this afternoon, I've been playing with one of my favourite images, Betty Harley from the Bettys 4 Collection of images by  You'll find Betty Harley in the Limited Release Digis section of the SimplyBStamps store, but she's only there until the end of week, so if you've not got her grab her quick.

I coloured Betty Harley with a mix of Letraset Promarkers & Flexmarkers.  I then trimmed and mounted my image onto some pink cardstock before applying some Picked Raspberry & Black Soot Distress Inks; I used a chicken wire mask with the raspberry ink, and a flame mask with the black ink.  I then mounted this onto some mirri board before adding to my black card base.

For my sentiment I used the new Tim Holtz alphabet die 'Inside Out' with pink and black cardstock, along with some tiny alphabet stickers from cosmo cricket.  To embellish  my card i added some pink and black twine to a piece of mirri board, before adding a pink rose with winged skull charm, and a couple of white pearl pins.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges;
Stamptacular Sunday Challenge - Let's hear it for the GIRLS
Allsorts Challenge Blog - Heavy Metal
Dies to Die For:Die-ing for a Challenge - Anything Goes

That's all from me for today,
Enjoy the rest of your weekend

CYDI Challenge#16 - Purple Please

There is a new challenge over at Can You Digi It, and it's a nice simple one, but still great fun.  It's called 'Purple Please' and we want to see purple on your creation, maybe a little, but preferably a lot, either way we want to see your creations.

Here's the inspiration board to help you get started;

and here is my card inspired by the colour purple;
I used the very cute 'Do You Care for Tea? image' by Lilypink Designs.  I love this image, as not only do I love a cuppa tea, but I also love dots, spots and stripes, so I had great fun colouring this image.  I love working with purple and green together, such a vibrant contrast, and so versatile.

I hope your inspired to join us for our challenge and your chance to win a prize.

Here's Betty's Itinerary

3 - Something Wet - water, ice, snow!!

4 - Make it sparkle
5 - Brads or Eyelets
6 - swirls and flourishes
7 - For a Boy
8 - No Patterned paper
9 - Embossing

10 - Lots of Flowers

and here is my card using the adorable Frosty MerKid Image;
Isn't he a cutie, and so much fun to colour.  As you can see i kept my card very simple; I used some graduated aqua cardstock for my card blank, onto which i added my image.  Frosty is coloured in a mix of Letraset Promarkers and Flexmarkers, and embossed using a snowy embossing folder. Definitely a CAS (Clean and Simple) card, but very cute too.

Thank you for visting with me today

Jude & The Rockers First Steps Collection is here....

There are some brand new Jude & The Rockers in the Simplybstamps Store.  They are the First Steps Collection, for all those special landmarks toddlers reach that need celebrating.

Here is the Door Sign I created for my Craft Room using the very special Potty Time Suzi.  I have to say she has a very special place in my heart, because she's based on me, well to be more premise, me as a toddler.

We were chatting about Potty Training one evening, and I couldn't resist sharing this pic of me...
After Betty stopped laughing, she asked if she could use it as the inspiration for an image in the First Steps Collection; of course I said yes, who wouldn't.  I can't believe how cute she made me look.  If only I was that cute nowadays lol!!

Jude & the Rockers First Steps Collection along with the Betty Villians and a few other Limited Edition Digi Image are available until Friday this week.  Please buy as many as you can, not only will you get some awesome images to play with, but all the money is going toward's Christian's Operation Fund, they are pretty close to having enough for his Operation, but still need more before they can book him in.
