Let's Get Stitchy with The Stamping Chef

Hello my Crafty Friends, today i'd like to share with you my DT card for The Stamping Chef's current challenge.  Our Theme is 'Let's Get Stitchy' - we want to see some sort of stitching on your project, real or faux it's up to you.

For my card I used the awesome 'I'm a Raver' image from The Stamping Chef.  I coloured my image with Graph'It Markers to coordinate with the papers i'd chosen from DCWV's The Girlhood Stack.  I was drawn to the faux stitched rainbow on the patterned paper and used that as inspirations for the Raver's wonderful leg warmers, oh how i'd love a pair of rainbow leg warmers. Can't you tell i grew up in the 80's lol!!

You've still got plenty of time to join our challenge, so why not get Stitchy with us?
Thanks for visiting with me today, and have a great weekend all

Delicious Doodles and Chromatic Craze combined for a super Sweet Card

There is a new challenge over at the Delicious Doodles Challenge Blog and I thought it would be great to combine this with Septembers challenge at Chromatic Craze.

Delicious Doodles Theme is Gems and Bling
and
Chromatic Craze, you have to use at least 3 colours from the following colour palette;

Here is what I came up with;
I used the beautiful Angelique with Snowflake image from Delicious Doodles for my focal point on this card.
Angelique is coloured with the following Graph'It Markers;
Hair: 1110, 1130, 1140, 1230
Skin: 4110, 4120, 4125
Eyes: 6110, 7125
Outfit and Wings : 5110, 5120, 0000
The sentiment is stamped with 5120 and is from the Everyday Honeycomb Sentiments Rubber Stamp set by Whimsy Stamps.
I die cut the Hexagons with Sizzix Framelit Dies, before layering onto my card blank.  I added some pink dew drops to the pink hexagons, along with some dots of Petal Pink Liquid Pearls.  I added dots of Petal Pink Liquid Pearls to the other hexagons, and around the stamped sentiment.

That's all from me for today, two fun challenges combined in one pretty card, very pleased with the result. Now to enjoy the rest of my evening, with a spot of colouring and a battle against Candy Crush Saga!!

Thanks for visiting with me
Have a great weekend all

No Characters - Colour an Accessory with Graph'It Markers Challenge Blog

It's Friday and time for a new challenge over at the Graph'It Markers Challenge Blog, and this weeks is a real corker, challenge is definitely the word.  The theme this week is 'No Characters - Colour an Accessory!'
so forget about playing with your favourite character stamps this week you need to colour something a little different

What a fun challenge, I decided to make a boy's card, so used the cute truck digis on the Pretty Tuff CD from Polkadoodles for my bright and cheery card.  I combined this with some Washi Tape and a Custom Licence Plate.
Graph'It Colours used;
0000, 1170, 1180, 2150, 2160, 5220, 5240, 6110, 6140, 6180, 6190, 7125, 7130, 9103, 9105, 9108.

I wanted my card to be bright and to appeal to a little boy, so trucks seemed a great idea, and what better than a rainbow of trucks.  I had great fun creating the background for the Licence Plate, simply colouring a piece of my stamping paper with the markers in rainbow order, using the chisel tip and long diagonal strokes, then I used the blender pen to soften the edges between each colour.

So What are you going to colour for our challenge?  Still not sure, Why not hop over to the Graph'It Markers Blog and check out the creations from the rest of our awesome Design Team, I'm sure they will inspire you.  You'll find full details on our challenge and news of an awesome prize too!

Time to get Spooky with Graph'It Markers

It's Friday the 13th, so what better theme for this week's Graph'It Markers Challenge than Halloween Colours. You don't have to make a Halloween Card, just use Halloween Colours, so grab your Green, Orange, Purple and Black Pens and get colouring up a storm.

For my card I used the awesome Witchie Goth Digistamp from Polkadoodles.  I coloured my image with the following Graph'It Markers.
Skin; 1110, 8220, 8250, 8260
Hair; 6110, 6140, 6180, 6190
Outfit; 2150, 2180, 9108, 9905, 9909.

I did not use any patterned paper on my card, instead I used some Orange Vellum and Black Cardstock.  I used a Martha Stewart Punch to create my web borders.  The rest of my diecuts were left over from last year, not sure what files I used now, but they were cut using my Sizzix Eclips Machine.  For my sentiment I used some word stickers from Bazzills All Hallow's Eve range, and coloured them with GI 6190 before adding them to my card.

Don't forget to hop over to the Graph'It Markers Blog to check out the creations from the rest of the Design Team, and to find out what awesome prize is on offer this week.

September Saturday Freebie Time with Rick St. Dennis

It's the first Saturday of the month and time to share some super fun creations featuring this months freebies from Rick St. Dennis.  You can only get these images free by subscribing to Rick's Monthly Newsletter, so hope over to Rick's Blog to find out how to sign up.  Missed this months images and want to get them, well you can get your hands on them at a special price right now, over at Rick's Etsy Store.

I guess it's time to let you see these super cute images, we've a Back to School theme to our images this month.  So first of all here's
BUDDY;
 Isn't he a handsome wee chap.  I've paired him with some lovely school themed papers from the 'Off to School' paper pad from Fancy Pants.  He's coloured with Graph'It Markers, and I've added some Red PanPastel to the edges of all my papers on this card. My sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps' 'School Yard Fun' Rubber stamp set.

Do you remember Bitsy from last month? She was really happy playing on the beach, unfortunately she's not quite so happy now, here's BAD BITSY;

She's definitely not as sweet and angelic looking as the last time you saw her!  I wonder who has prompted her to stick her tongue out?? We can only imagine!

I used the same patterned papers with Bitsy with the addition of some American Traditions Chevron Ribbon.

Want to see some awesome variations of Buddy and Bitsy, well hop over to Sparkle & Glitter the Rick St. Dennis EDT Blog and Airless Chambers to see the gorgeous creations from the rest of the EDT.

Background Effects with Graph'It Markers

This week's challenge over at the Graph'It Markers Blog is all about creating Backgrounds and Background Effects.  So I decided to have a wee play; I took a sheet of my Ultimate Graphics Paper and using the chisel end of my 9909 Black Marker turned the page Black. I then took my Spirograph Mask and sprayed some Mix'It Fluid through the mask onto the paper and left it for a few seconds, before moving the mask and spraying another area.
I then decided to add some colour.  Using my 5245 Ruby Marker I coloured through the mask with the chisel tip.  I then moved it and did another area.  My mask was now a nice shade of red so I sprayed it with Mix'It Fluid over one area of the paper, before turning it over and putting onto another part of the paper.  I then layed a sheet of copy paper over and give it a good rub.  This transferred some of the red ink from the mask onto my paper creating a more subtle effect.

I then put the paper to one side and left it dry.  If you get any excess ink on your mask, table or hands you can use the Mix'It Fluid on a piece of tissue to clean up. As you can probably guess, I'm a messy crafter!

Once my paper was dry it was time to cut it down into workable pieces.  I decided to cut some 3" square focusing on areas of the paper where I really like the patterns i'd created.  I ended up with 6 squares and some offcuts.  I chose the 4 squares I liked the most and matted them onto layers of red, white and a darker red card before adding them to a 8 x 8 card blank.

At this point I decided not to add an image to my card, as I didn't want to cover up too much of the patterned paper I'd created.  I added a couple of strips of Washi Tape to 2 of the squares before stamping my sentiment.

I found a 'Thank You' rubber stamp in my stash and coloured it with 5245 with the addition of a little 9909, before spraying it with Mix'It Fluid and stamping it onto some white card.  I liked the washed out effect it created but wanted to add a bit more definition to my sentiment.  So using 9909 I coloured the stamp again and stamped over the original impression.  I matted and layered the sentiment onto card stock in the same manner as my background paper, before adding it to the card with some foam pads for dimension.

Here's the finished card;
I think it turned out pretty dramatic.  Looking at it you'd think i'd used more supplies than two coloured markers, some Mix'It Fluid and a Stencil.  Just shows you don't need a massive collection of pens to start off with; if you add the Mix'It Fluid to your collection it opens up lots of different techniques you can try and hours of messy fun.

Why not have a play with your alcohol markers and see what background effects you can come up with, if you need more inspiration hop over to the Graph'It Markers Blog to check out the creations from the rest of the DT and to find out what prize you could win by entering our challenge.
