All my Love with Sweet Pea Stamps, and don't forget the DT Call

Today I want to share with you my project for the current DT Call over at Sweet Pea Stamps.  I have to say I love being on this Design Team, so reapplying was a no brainer.  They have some of the best images and artists on their books, as well as a Management Team of truly amazing and talented Ladies, who all happen to be very nice people too, which is a blessing in the craziness of the crafting community.  So if your thinking of applying, don't let anything stop you, It's the best team to be on, and you'll love it.

At the moment the DT are focusing on Gift Ideas, after all we all love to give and receive gifts, but at this time of year it can get a little expensive, so we are showing you some projects that don't cost much to make, but should leave you with a very happy recipient.  That said, here is my Gift project;
It's an Easel Card/Calender, perfect for anyone and really quick to make.  The easiest way to make these I've found it to start of with 2 card blanks of the same size, one you will use for your base, and the other for the card top.

Take the first card blank score/fold at the half way point of your card front, folding in towards the already creased centre fold of your card.  Take the second card blank and cut along the centre fold, so you end up with two pieces of card the same size.  You will use one of these for your card top, and the other can be used for matting/layering elements on your card, or saved for another project.

All you need to do then is decorate your card base and top.  For the base I use the same patterned papers I plan on using on the top, along with the leftover card and a calender tab ( I used a Calender Tab by Docrafts, you can get a pack of 10 for around £1 at any good craft shop)  For the top use whatever patterned papers and image you like.  I used the beautiful Bella with Rose image by Conie Fong for my calender.
As you can see from the above picture the calender tab acts as a stopper for the card top, so your calender will sit quite happily without external support.  You can then fold your calender flat and it will fit into the envelope that came with your card blank.
You can add 3D embellishments if you wish, but you'll need a sturdy box for it if you plan on mailing it.

That's all from me for today, make sure you check out the Sweet Pea Stamps Facebook page for current information including discount codes, and other gift ideas from our very talented design team.

Thank you for visiting with me today, hope I've inspired you to make a few calenders for those special people in your life.

Happy Crafting
Bye for now
