Cute Card Thursday meets Rick St Dennis

Today sees a new challenge over at Cute Card Thursday, and it is being sponsored by Rick St. Dennis, which gave me the opportunity to be Guest DT.  A chance I jumped at, after all who doesn't like a cute card now and again.

The theme for the challenge is 'Circles' so time to embrace all things round and curvy to create some circular cuteness.
Here's my creation;
I used the super cute 'Sugar Plum Fairy Mouse' image for my project.
This pretty wee fairy is coloured with Letraset Tria and Promarkers, along with a little white gel pen, and some sakura stardust for a bit of glitter on her wings and wand.

I decided to create one of my favourite styles of card, an easel card, I love how quick and simple they are too make, and this one was even quicker, as I used an easel card blank from Creata, so no need for measuring.  The card blank has a lovely scalloped edge with semi circular cut outs, but to make this a little fancier I used a Tonic circle die to cut the centre out, I then added a blue circle of card behind my die cut to create a pretty but simple background for my fairy.  So as not to waste any card, I cut a smaller decorative circle out of the remaining card, and used that to add my sentiment.  The sentiment is a rubber stamp from The Greeting Farm's Hello-Go-Round set of stamps (now retired).  To embellish my card I added a few pearls around the top and base of the card to tie in with the 'circles' theme and add a little bling.

My colour choices for this card, are not necessarily what I would go for when creating a cute card, but I wanted to challenge myself, and have a go at Rick's Personal Challenge, which is to use a Rick St. Dennis image and create a project using Red, White and Blue.  Of course i'm not eligible for the challenge prize, as I'm lucky enough to be on Rick's EDT, but you've still got time to join in his challenge, just create your project, add a picture of it to the Rick St. Dennis Fans and Friends group on Facebook, and email a copy of the picture directly to Rick.

That's all from me for now, but don't forget to pop over to Sparkle and Glitter the Rick St. Dennis EDT Blog, where you can see some more cute creations by the EDT for this challenge.

Here's what I decided to create for today's Blog Hop;
For my project I chose to use the beautiful 'Well Hello There' image by Kelly Rhodes, which you will find in the Ditzie Digi Design Store, along with lots of other beautiful images.

My project can be used as a Wall Hanging or Door Plaque, It's quite large being created with two 12" Polystyrene Pizza Bases.  Once I made sure my bases were nice and clean, I painted them with a coat of Avocado Acrylic Paint before setting aside to dry.

The next stage was to add the Webbed Ribbon and Satin Ribbon, before gluing the two bases together.  After leaving it to dry I added some pins to the ribbon and around the edging of the hanging.  I then added my image, before adding lots of blue and clear gems.

I've left a space above my image for Personalization!  That is because I'll pick one lucky commenter to receive this unique piece. All you need do is leave me a comment, and It could be Yours!

Here's a close up of the beautiful mermaid image

That's all from me for now, Have a Wonderful Time Hopping with Us, and don't forget to check out the wonderful products available at That Craft Place and Ditzie Digi Designs Etsy Store.

Rick St Dennis Progressive Challenge: Midway Reminder

It's half way through the month, so time to remind you about the Rick St Dennis Progressive Challenge; It's the second part of our Steampunk Challenge, and this time we want to see your creations using the 'Youre a Winner Nyner the Little Monster Stamp'.  If you took part in the first part of our Steampunk Challenge then you'll have received the image for free, if you didn't you can still join in the challenge by purchasing Nyner.

Here's my creation using Nyner;
Nyner is coloured with a mix of Letraset Tria and Promarkers, with the addition of a little white pen for highlights. I added a little red Pan Pastel to the background of my image. For my main background piece I embossed some yellow cardstock with the Spellbinders 3D M-Bossibilities Creative Cogs folder before applying red Pan Pastel to bring out the design. I created a frame for this embossed background using the Joy! Crafts Gears Border Die and some red cardstock.  To further embellish my card I added some yellow satin ribbon to echo the sash Nyner is wearing, and some tiny orange brads.  My sentiment is created using the Scrabble Alphabet Digital Stamps from Ditzie Digi Designs.

Here is a close up of Nyner;

That's all from me for today, don't forget to hop over to Sparkle and Glitter the Rick St Dennis EDT Blog to see the awesome creations from the rest of the EDT, and to link up your project.

Feeling Nautical and Blue with Digi Galore Challenge Blog

Good day All, Today I'd like to share with you my latest DT project for the Digi Galore Challenge Blog, our challenge launched last Saturday, but you've still got a week to play along with us, and it's a lovely theme; We want to see your Nautical and/or Blue creations, here's mine
We are very lucky to be sponsored by Whimsy and Stars Studio for this challenge, and I used their super cute 'Spring Boy and Girl' image.  My image is coloured with Letraset Tria and Promarkers, with the addition of a little white gel pen.  I decided to create a vintage feel with this card, so kept my colours muted, and teamed my image with papers and a die cut from a Creata Paper Pad.  I added a little bling with some Papermania Pink Gem Brads, along with some pink gems and a sweetheart blossom.

I quite like how this card turned out, but I think it's missing something, just not sure what! Maybe another patterned paper in the background, or some ribbon/fabric? Anyway it's a little different from my usual style, and I do love to try new things.

Thanks for visiting with me today, and I hope you find time to play along with our fun challenge at Digi Galore Challenge Blog, don't forget to pop over to see the beautiful creations from the rest of the Design Team and to link up your project to win some lovely images from our sponsor.

Have a wonderful day
