Guest DT at Sweet Pea Stamps

I was honoured to be selected as this months Guest Designer at Sweet Pea Stamps, I have to admit they are one of my favourite stamp companies, they represent so many wonderful artists, I'm spoilt for choice every time I visit their store.

Today I get to share with you a couple of project I made using the beautiful 'Little Jasmine Mermaid' image by Elaine Cox.

As you can see with this project I embraced lots of bold colours, Little Jasmine is coloured with Letraset Promarkers and a little white pen for highlights.  I found the background paper in my craft stash and thought it perfect for this card, as the pattern reminds me of underwater plants.  I added a couple of heart shaped paper doilies, to soften the look of the background, and help create a dreamy romantic feel.  I'm sure this Little Mermaid is lost in thoughts of her Handsome Prince.
I added some die cut flourishes along with a wonderful mix of paper flowers and assorted gems.

Here is Version 2 of Little Jasmine Mermaid;
As you can see I went with a much more human looking mermaid, with beautiful peachy pink skintones and gorgeous orange/red hair. Once again Little Jasmine Mermaid is coloured with Letraset Promarkers, including some colours from the brand new Spring/Summer 2014 Limited Edition set.

I chose to use a very similar layout for this card, using round doilies in my background, along with some die cut flourishes and chicken wire.  I went for a softer more romantic look with this card, so added some pretty roses and heather, along with some white pearls.

Here you can see close ups of both version of Little Jasmine Mermaid;

I love how completely different one image can look depending on your colour choices.  Do you have a favourite out of the two?  I know I don't, I love how they both turned out. It was great fun colouring this image, and I can't wait to colour more beautiful images from Sweet Pea Stamps, luckily I have quite a collection, the only hard decision I have is which image to colour first.

Want to add this beautiful image to your collection, then why not hop over to Sweet Pea Stamps and grab her, she's only $3, which i think is a brilliant price for such a beautiful image. Want to see more projects created with Sweet Pea Stamps images, then you need to visit their blog to see the gorgeous creations by their very talented Design Team.

That's all from me for today,
Thanks for visiting with me and Happy Crafting

You Make Me Smile

Today I'd like to share my last project as a member of the 'That Craft Place' Design Team; before I share my project I want to say a massive Thank You to Lisa & Danny for running such an awesome store, and for being two of the nicest people i've had the pleasure of working with.  Not to forget the Amazing Erin for keeping us all on our toes and being a truly awesome DT Coordinator and Inspirational Crafter; and of course the rest of the DT for making my time at 'That Craft Place' a real pleasure, it's been an honour ladies.

For my last project I thought it only right to use one of Lisa's very own images which you can get hold of over at the Ditzie Digi Designs Etsy Store.  Here's Baggy Trousers;

I had great fun colouring this funky young lady, she's coloured with Letraset ProMarkers.  I kept the rest of the card very simple, using some white card stock for my card base, along with some textured coloured card which I distressed before adding it to my card.  I created a wee embelishment using a couple of buttons and a pearl.  Finally a wee sticker sentiment to finish my card off.

That's all from me for today, Thank You for visiting with me.
Have a great day all

Anything Goes with Digi Galore and Scrapper's Delight

The weekend is here again, and It's time for a new challenge over at Digi Galore, this time we've made the challenge so easy anyone can join in, that's because our theme is 'Anything Goes', create whatever you like as long as you create something new for our challenge.

Our sponsor this week is Scrapper's Delights, and we got to work with some super cute images, that you'll want to create with yourself.

Here is my creation;
I used the super cute 'Crafty Honeys Markers' image for my card. She's coloured with a mix of Letraset Tria and ProMarkers, with the addition of a little white gel pen.

I used a Joy Craft die to create my notebook edging, so that my image resembles a page from a sketchbook.  I chose purple and red card stock to tie in with the colour of her hair, and outfit.  For my main background, I chose three washi tapes from my collection, and created a border along the bottom of the card, and a little down the left hand side.  I then added some purple card stock before adding my image which i'd matted onto red cardstock.  For my sentiment I chose some letter tile embellishments I had in my craft stash, and spelt out the words Create, With, and Colour.

Here's a close up of my coloured image;
This image definitely reminds me of myself, so I think I might use it as my profile picture for a while.  I hope you like it as much as I do.
