Featured Artist Week at Sweet Pea Stamps - Maigan Lynn

This week we have been featuring the wonderful images of Maigan Lynn over at the Sweet Pea Stamps Blog, for my project I chose to use the gorgeous 'Rockabilly Rose' image;

With all the cold weather we've been having at the moment, I felt the need to create something bright and cheerful, so I had great fun colouring this gorgeous image in shades of turquoise and orange, with the additional of some golden sunshine yellow for her hair.

For my patterned papers I went with a funky circle and stripe combo, which i combined with some pretty flowers to soften the look.  My sentiment is a Tim Holtz Adage Ticket.

You can find this image in digital format in the Sweet Pea Stamps Store, along with lots more gorgeous images by Maigan Lynn and a whole host of talented artists.

That's all from me for today, Thank you for visiting with me, have a wonderful weekend.

A Buttercup just For You

Today I'd like to share with you a pretty card I've created featuring the super sweet 'Buttercup' image by Conie Fong which you can find over at the Sweet Pea Stamps store. Conie Fong draws some of the cutest children, and this image is one of my favourites.

Buttercup is coloured with Letraset Promarkers and then matted and layered onto some patterned paper from Crafter's Companions Everyday with Barkley A4 paper pad.  The papers in this set are so pretty, such delicate patterns including some lovely ombre effect papers.

I then layered a Papermania Die cut onto my card before adding my coloured image.  For my sentiment I used two of the dies from the MFT Die-namics Tag Talk set, and added some organza ribbon.

Using a Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch I punched some butterflies from some of the leftover background papers, adding one to the sentiment tag, and scattering more of them around my card.

For my main embellishment I chose to create a frame of paper flowers around my image.

Doesn't she look beautiful surrounded by all those flowers.  This card reminds me so much of Springtime, something which I am yearning for, I like most other people have had enough of this cold Wintery Weather, can't wait for Spring to arrive.

A Lovely Snowflake Owl with Sweet Pea Stamps

Today I'd like to share with you all a card i've created using the beautiful 'Snowflake Owl' image by Charmaine Flannery available over at Sweet Pea Stamps;

I thought this image would make a lovely birthday card for someone with a winter birthday, but you could use this image for any occasion.  I had so much fun colouring her with my Letraset Promarkers, and white gel pen.

For my card, I took a 5" x 7" card blank and adhered two round doilies to it, before trimming the doilies in line with the cards edges.  I then took 3 different washi tapes from my stash, a plain cerise, purple checks along with a purple and grey striped .  I tore strips from each of these tapes and added them over my doilies to create my background.  I then stapled my coloured image in place.

To embellish my card I added a Tim Holtz Adage Ticket for my sentiment, along with cerise gems of various sizes and a cerise wooden heart button.

I love combining paper doilies with washi tape to give both a traditional and funky feel to my card backgrounds, I hope you like the combination as much as I do.

A CAS HB2U with Sweet Pea Stamps

Today I have a very clean and simple card to share with you, featuring the beautiful 'Abby' by Regan Kubecek available at Sweet Pea Stamps;
Regan puts so much gorgeous details into her images that once i'd coloured this one, I realised it really needed very little embellishment.  So I mounted it into a white card blank and added my sentiment with some funky pink stickers.

Here is a close up of Abby;

You can find this image and many more of Regan's beautiful images in both Rubber stamp and Digital Format in the Sweet Pea Stamps Store.

A Sweet Pea Stamps Calender for 2015

It's my pleasure to share with you today my first creation of 2015. I decided to make myself a calender for my craft room, and chose the gorgeous 'Darkness Unchained' by Charmaine Flannery  from Sweetpea Stamps as my focal point.  Such a beautiful image, I never get bored looking at it;

To create my calender I took some Black Card along with some purple plain and patterned papers, a calender tab, Silver Mirri Card which I die cut with a Hexagon/ChickenWire Die, a mix of paper flowers, assorted gems, pink ribbon and some silver corner embellishments.

The First thing I did was colour my image with a mix of Letraset Tria and Promakers, with the addition of some white gel pen, and a gold metallic pen for the cross.
Here's a close up of the coloured image;
I layered my image onto some purple and black card before adding some silver decorative corner embellishments I then took two sheets of black card and sandwiched a piece of pink ribbon between the two to act as my hanger.  I then added some of the purple card to my background, before adding the silver die cuts and patterned papers which I'd found in my stash.  I then added my image and my calender tab.

I then decided to add lots of bling and flowers, I kept a very limited colour palette of black, silver and dark pink/purple with a few splashes of green to tie everything together.

The finished calender is now hanging on my craft room wall for me to admire whilst i craft.  I do hope you all like it as much as I do.

You can find the image and lots more beautiful images by Charmaine Flannery in both Rubberstamp and Digital Format over at the Sweetpea Stamps Store. Don't forget to visit the Sweet Pea Stamps Blog to see the gorgeous creations from the rest of our very talented design team.
